Pride Durham's Vision
Pride Durham Inc. exists to celebrate our culture, commemorate our heritage, educate against homophobia and empower our diverse lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered and associated community across Durham Region.
Pride Durham Inc. envision's a community characterized by a strong commitment to universal civil rights; safe communities, workplaces, and schools; stable families; and self-reliant lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals.
Pride Durham Inc. forsee's a time where all people across Durham Region are fully empowered to participate safely, openly, and honestly in society, regardless of gender-identity or sexual orientation. We envision a community solidified by respect and love for our brothers and sisters in and outside of the LGBT community.
Pride Durham Inc. relies on the leadership and energy of its volunteers and the support of its sponsors to make these visions a reality. We strive to foster ongoing community education and sort through a public presence, outreach educational programs, social events and partnering with other organizations to make Durham Region a welcoming place for all of us to call home and raise a family.
