You make Pride happen! Last year, volunteers dedicated many hours in order to make pride happen. Pride Durham Inc. would like to extend our heartfelt thank you to all the volunteers and Pride Committee who contributed to the enormous success of Pride Durham Inc - ALIVE WITH PRIDE!
Pride Durham is the result of volunteers who give their time and energy each year. Volunteers bring a wealth of experience, knowledge, as well as specialized skills to Pride Durham Inc. Dedication and commitment are the keys for a rewarding volunteer experience with our great community.
Pride Durham Inc is a volunteer-run organization. We have volunteers working year-round, while our Board of Directors plans and organizes the Pride Festival. Who are these volunteers? They are the many faces of our awesome community.
Pride Durham has four kinds of volunteer opportunities:
1. Event Volunteers
Every year during Pride Weekend, dedicated volunteers help to run all aspects of the festival. To register to become a Weekend Volunteer for the festival please email our Volunteer Program Coordinator at volunteer@pridedurham.com, for more info.
2. Committee Members
Our committee needs volunteers to contribute ideas, creativity, innovation, and commitment to realize the goals of Pride Durham. Committee members’ commitment will increase closer to the festival. If you would like to become a Committee Member, please email our Volunteer Program Manager at volunteer@pridedurham.com, for more info.
3. Committee Coordinators
Each of our committees is lead by Coordinators. Coordinators act as the chair of the Committee to ensure the goals and objectives of the Committee are fulfilled. Coordinators commitment will increase closer to the festival. Some Committees' Coordinators will be required to contribute more time than others in the two months leading up to the festival.

4. Board of Directors
Every fall Pride Durham accepts applications from individuals who are interested in becoming a member of the Board. To run for elections for Pride Durham Inc, you must be a member in good standing 30 days prior to an election.

Pride Durham's Volunteer Age Policy
The volunteer age policy is meant to ensure that volunteers are given the tools to function in their roles in a safe and knowledgeable way and to prevent volunteers from being put at foreseeable risk.
The minimum age for volunteers working in any capacity is 16 years unless accompanied by a parent/guardian whom takes full responsibility for your well being.
